Plain-English terms covering bookings, events, volunteering and the content on this website.
These terms cover your use of the Summertown Arts website and the things you can do through it - reading about our work, booking a space, enquiring about an event, signing up to volunteer or joining our mailing list. By using the site you agree to them. They are written in plain English rather than legal shorthand; if anything is unclear, please ask.
You are welcome to browse, share and link to anything on this site. Please do not attempt to disrupt it, gain access to areas that are not public, submit anything unlawful or abusive through our forms, or use automated tools to harvest content or contact details.
We take care to keep programme details, dates, prices and room information accurate, but they can change - especially for events run with visiting artists and partner groups. Details on the site are an invitation to get in touch rather than a binding offer. Always check with us before travelling if something matters.
Booking enquiries made through the site are requests, not confirmed bookings. A booking is only confirmed once we reply in writing with the date, times and fee. Hirers are responsible for their own activity, their guests, and leaving the space as they found it, and are asked to hold appropriate insurance where their activity requires it. Please tell us as early as you can if you need to cancel so the space can be offered to someone else.
Where tickets are sold through a third-party ticketing provider, that provider's own terms and refund policy apply to the purchase. If an event is cancelled or rescheduled by us, we will contact ticket holders with the options available.
Volunteering with us is voluntary and unpaid, and creates no contract of employment. Some roles involve working with children or vulnerable adults and are subject to our safeguarding checks and induction. Either of us can end a volunteering arrangement at any time.
If you join our mailing list we will send occasional news about events and activities, and nothing else. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by writing to us.
Text, images and artwork on this site belong to us or to the artists and photographers who made them, and may not be reproduced commercially without permission. You may quote or share content non-commercially with credit. If you believe something here uses your work without permission, contact us and we will put it right.
When you send us photographs, artwork, listings or other material for publication, you confirm it is yours to share and give us permission to use it on this site and in related promotion. Tell us if you would like it removed and we will do so.
How we handle the details you share is set out in our privacy policy. You can change your cookie choices at any time using the cookie preferences link in the footer.
We link to partner organisations, artists and ticketing providers. Those sites are not run by us and we are not responsible for their content or their terms.
We are a small community organisation and provide this website as it is. We are not liable for loss arising from use of the site or from reliance on programme information, though nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
We update this page when the way we work changes. The date above shows when it was last reviewed.
